Local Orbit makes it easy for people to buy food directly from farmers and food producers in their communities.

Our service has evolved from ongoing discussions with farmers, food producers, chefs and eaters.

Everyone we talked with was hungry for food that comes from farmers and artisan food producers they know and trust. Many were interested in spending a larger share of their food dollars in their own communities. Farmers talked about struggling to build sustainable businesses and the need for better distribution systems. Everyone had a story about limited or inefficient access to locally produced food.

As a result of these conversations, we've created Local Orbit. We are a bridge between the deepening demand for locally produced food and limited distribution options that make it difficult for independent producers to get local product to market.
