How It Works

1. Local Orbit provides tools for food hubs, farmers markets, co-ops and local distribution entrepreneurs.
2. Producers sell direct to customers through one or more Local Orbit marketplaces. Buyers order on a weekly basis. Local Orbit handles the payments and communications to support you in fulfilling your orders.
3. Depending on the region, sellers either deliver wholesale orders directly or through aggregated delivery services. Consumer orders are delivered to a central hub site. Each marketplace has a regular order and delivery schedule.
4. Local Orbit sends payments within two business days of delivery, after deducting a sales commission. The commission includes credit card processing fees and a share to the local marketplace partner. Fees are established with local partners.
